Bio
I am a teacher-researcher with interest in student empowerment. In my research, I put forward the principles of a democratic and egalitarian pedagogy where authority circulates amongst the participants of a mathematics classroom. I view the student as a competent individual who can take responsibility for their learning process. The role of the teacher is that of an Educator, drawing out students' latent potential.
I argue that this pedagogy is crucial to developing students who feel included in mathematics learning; who can reason mathematically and apply their knowledge to solve problems.
