Bio
Welcome to my WordPress page where I am exploring all things that inspire me to be creative so I can share it with you! I learned a long time ago that I am happiest when I find inspiration or a passion for creative things I love. I discovered that when I share things that inspire me to create the true benefit is bringing someone else joy, inspiration or a simple smile, and that makes my day! At three years old my sister took me to a dance class , and I fell in love with dancing and singing which lead me to the love of live theatre. All through my school age years I performed in dance recitals, musical theatre, school plays and church choir, pop bands and talent shows. At age 20 I went to New York City, attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and at the Uta Hagen & Herb Bergoff' Studio for acting. I gave myself five years to explore the goal of making a living in the performing arts, but soon realized I was a mere pebble in a very large pond.
Although I left the theatre, my imagination and creativity was a gift that I could express in many ways. I've always loved art, poetry, crafts, songwriting, interior design, and music. At work I was an computer instructor and had strong presentation and communication skills. I also used those skills to land jobs as a freelance singer for a few live bands, cabaret clubs, singing telegrams to utilize my vocal talent. I worked, and working at night as a bar maid in the broadway theatre's. But I soon learned that word processing would bring in the most money working at night or law firms. Fast forward to 2018 I've had a successful career as an IT Specialist/Project Manager for the Federal Government, but took on side jobs singing for festivals, Military Events and banquets here in Washington D.C. I'm retiring soon and started this blog to focus on my creative side, and work on things that inspire me. So thanks for stopping by and listening to my story. I hope you find something here that makes you smile.
