Bio
Miriam Jaskierowicz Arman, the founder and director if the International Institute of Voice Development, Israel, was born in post war Germany to survivors of the Holocaust. She received her education in Europe and America and has lived and taught in many countries throughout the world, including: America, Switzerland, Israel, Poland, Mexico, Hungary, Slovenia, Ukraine, Russia, Italy and Romania.
In 1982, Arman founded Music Culture/Visions International Inc. She was the director until 2008, during which time she wrote, produced, hosted and directed television and radio shows that aired in Europe and America. Arman served as Executive Producer and director of the feature film “Ten Tenors from Ten Countries” which was filmed in Recanati.
From 2010-12 Arman taught at the Central School for Cantorial Music in Ramat Gan, Israel. She moved to Tzfat where she founded the International Institute for Voice Development, which in 2013 merged with the Tiberias WIZO Music Conservatory.
Miriam Jaskierowicz Arman is a prolific author and has published a number of internationally successful books. In 1999, she published her seminal work on vocal technique: The Voice; A Spiritual Approach to Singing, Speaking and Communicating—The Kabbalah of the Voice. This book, now in its 4th edition, has been published in English, German and Italian. More works would follow. In 2003, she published Soul Reflections, A Personal Odyssey in Poetry and Paintings, in 2007, Coming Home, which outlines her arrival and life in the Lubavitch Community of Crown Heights, New York and in 2009, her innovative work: Autism: A Plausible Cause, A Feasible Cure – An Alternative Viewpoint.
Miriam Jaskierowicz Arman’s involvement with vocal technique and voice reconstruction began more than 40 years ago. She founded The International Academy of Voice and Stage Inc., a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement of Bel Canto and Giro Vocal Motion Technique. Her work in the field of Vocal Pedagogy was featured on ABC World News, PBS and Comcast Television.
Today you will find Miriam Jaskierowicz Arman hard at work at the International Voice Institute in Tiberias, leading Master Classes, teaching voice to students and vocal teachers from all over the world, and teaching privately to those searching for the path to that “beautiful voice.”
