Bio
I am a professor specialising in astronomy at the University of Manitoba. I use telescopes both in space and on the ground to help trace elusive Dark Matter in galaxies and study the halos of galaxies, how galaxies move and how they gravitationally pull on each other, forming peculiar shapes. Additionally I create striking astronomy images seen in popular magazines, books and numerous websites. I co-ordinated NASA's Hubble Heritage Project's first 2 years of image production and make images for my various research collaborations. My outreach work is well-served by my education at Ontario College of Art and Design University as well as my astrophysics degrees from University of Toronto (B.Sc) and Australian National University (Ph.D).
