Bio
I have an M.Sc. degree in Urban Management and Development from IHS, Erasmus University Rotterdam, with specialisation in Urban Environment and Climate Change. I am highly interested in the transition to a sustainable society. My master thesis analyses the governance and institutional factors that act as drivers/barriers to the implementation of urban-scale mitigation actions in European cities.
Before participating in the master programme, I developed urban interventions and workshops in Brazil to build awareness of urban issues, such as lack of public spaces, pollution, and poor condition of sidewalks. I co-founded Bela Rua, a not-for-profit organisation that helps citizens, companies, and governments to implement urban projects focused on people's behavior, desires, and needs. I also created Curativos Urbanos (Urban Bandages), a project that uses colourful and giant band-aids to draw attention to the bruises of sidewalks in São Paulo. The project was replicated by citizens of over 15 cities in Brazil and internationally.
