Bio
John Alarid is an evangelist and church planter. He has planted churches in the Philippines and in Springfield, Missouri. He and Hannah planted CityReach Church and Hope Homes in Springfield, Missouri on March 6, 2016. Hope Homes are a faith based, residential treatment program for those struggling with life controlling issues or desperate situations; such as, drug addiction and post incarceration.
He has many years of experience facilitating Christ-Centered recovery homes and training centers from Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Springfield to Manila, Philippines.
John is passionate about working with the marginalized of society. This passion stems from his own ten year battle with an intravenous heroin addiction, involvement with street gangs and drug trafficking. After hitting rock bottom several times, he finally surrendered his life to Christ on a cement floor in a lonely prison cell at the New Mexico Department of Corrections. After the Lord met John in prison, he was unanimously voted in as the inmate pastor.
God not only gave John eternal life but also set him free from addiction and restored his mind. He is now in the Intercultural Ministries program at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. This man who was once incoherent, graduated from Central Bible College, Summa Cum Laude. Truly, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation.
John and his lovely wife Hannah live in Springfield, Missouri. John speaks regularly at local jails and prisons. Hannah is an artist, musician, song-writer and preacher. John and Hannah minister together holding revival services in prisons and as conference speakers.
His autobiography, "My Prison Became a Palace," is available on Amazon.
