Bio
Who am I? Many things, but above all and foremost, a writer. I've been writing ever since I can remember, and the brief periods of my life when I did not write were empty and meaningless. I took me a while (but not too long) to realise that I need to write as I need to breathe. Wrting is my happiness, my healing, my redemption and my life mission. I write in English and Spanish, at present almost as comfortably in both. I am studying a Master of Creative Writing at Oxford University (yes, I'm seriously chuffed about this) which is a lifetime dream come true (I still pinch myself at times).
As for my published work, my novel Cuando pase la lluvia (English version entitled Rain in two courtyards) was finalist in the Premio Hispania of Historical novel in Spain, and was published in 2018 by Grupo Planeta , one of the main publishing groups in the Spanish-speaking world. My novel for children ‘A Medicine for Benvolio’ won first prize in the International Contest of Children’s Literature 2012 and was published by Editorial San Marcos.
I live in Sydney, Australia with my husband and my son Miles, but I travel to UK four times a year for my postgraduate studies and at least twice to Argentina, to visit family and promote my novels. I teach Academic English at the University of New South Wales. Before my current post-graduate studies at Oxford University I completed a Master in Research from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, graduating in 2014. Also, I am crazy about languages and I've spent much of my life studying or teaching them... I am fluent in English, French and Italian in addition to my native Spanish.
Thanks for reading!
