Bio
Hi, I am Julia. I am a mental wellness advocate as well as aspiring to be a mental health PEER in a psych ward setting. I have lived experience. One day, I decided it was time to tell my story of my life from childhood to what led to my bipolar diagnosis. I hope you enjoy reading my story and you can walk away from reading it, understanding there is much more to a person than a mental health diagnosis. Please feel free to share my blog, and if you'd like to, I'd love for you to comment to tell me what you think or simply to just say you are reading along. As an advocate, I work to end the mental health stigma. I discuss my psych ward stays in this blog, and some can be tough to read. I hope you can push through reading the more difficult parts of my life and just maybe understand more what a person is going through. People are more than our diagnosis, and I hope my story reflects that. My goal as an advocate is to speak out for better treatment for people living with a mental health condition. In life, everyone has a story, and this blog is my story. If you have a voice, please advocate.
