Bio
Carolyn Lantzy Nelson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her MSW degree from Catholic University of America at the National Catholic School of Social Services in Washington, D.C. She also holds a MA degree in School Psychology, which she received from Towson University in Maryland. She has worked as a Psychology Associate for 11 years performing psychological assessments, specifically with children birth through young adults. She worked at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland for 7 of those years and has had the opportunity to work with recovering brain injured children and adolescents.
Carolyn Lantzy Nelson has worked in various aspects of Social Work for twelve years. She completed her internships on the psychiatric ward of a hospital and in a domestic violence/rape clinic. She worked in medical social work and worked for Hospice. She has been an alcohol and drug counselor for four years and worked in a jail setting and in an outpatient substance abuse clinic. She has done case management work. She is currently a therapist for a private practice that works with children, adolescents, and adults. She is also a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She has an affinity to Child-Centered Play Therapy and Sandtray Therapy. She is also an approved Supervisor for Social Workers and supervises interns and graduate level clinicians.
