Lily Tomlin once said 'the trouble with the rat race is that even if you win you're still a rat.'
I've spent much of my life asking where am I going as an individual, where's humanity going as a species; and I'm concerned about the world my children, and theirs to come, are going to inherit.
Some of my life experiences include living in a cave in India, and being married (and divorced) twice since coming to live in America.
I'm acutely aware of how temporary and fragile and precious everything is, and I look to ask questions that can raise consciousness by exposing the limits of current beliefs and creating space and possibility for a new perspective and direction.
I love to travel, and also to sit still. I love beauty and nature: animals, plants and people; rivers, deserts and mountains. I love to write, garden and cook, I've been a vegetarian and a student of bhakti-yoga for over 30 years, and sometimes lead kirtans (chanting mantras with musical accompaniment) with my harmonium.
I recently completed "The Politics of Evolution" (currently available on Amazon Kindle as an e-book), which is the inspiration for this blog; and am working on several other titles including "The Indian Odyssey of an English Jew."
