Bio
I studied Architecture at Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, Georgia, and Indian River State College, Fort Pierce, Florida. I love Architecture; my interests within architecture are: community based design, participatory design, place making, sustainable or green design, structure, regenerative design, community redevelopment, third spaces, community spaces, interstitial space, historic preservation, and interior design. I am also interested in and have been actively involved (during my education) in advocacy, transportation planning (particularly bicycle transportation), planning, urban design, community surveys, disaster relief, and public policy.
I am so appreciative that I had the opportunity to attend art school, where I was exposed to the various disciplines of art and design. The disciplines that particularly interest me, outside of architecture are: graphic design, industrial design, illustration, installation art, fashion, fibers, furniture design, music, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
I love and greatly value authenticity, vintage, history, honesty, ethics, and diversity. These values are all necessary to successfully collaborate with others, which I love to do. I have experienced the great fruits that collaboration, particularly interdisciplinary collaboration, can bring.
My desire is to improve the built environment and contribute to the betterment of society through thoughtful and sustainable design. I am interested in working for nonprofits. I desire to design for the under-privileged, or those typically and unintentionally disregarded from society. From my experiences working with diverse population groups, I have seen and know the value of every human, regardless of social economic status. Thoughtful and sustainable design is something that should be readily available to every person.
