Bio
Maureen Cassidy-Geiger is a curator, scholar, and educator, with special expertise in European decorative arts and court culture; patterns of collecting and display; the history of architecture, travel, and gardening; the arts of the table; and diplomatic gifts. Although she was author of The Philip Johnson Glass House: An Architect in the Garden (Rizzoli, 2016), much of her research concerns the court of Dresden, Germany, in the period ca. 1694-1763, with a focus on Meissen porcelain and on the Grand Tour of Italy undertaken by the handicapped Saxon crown prince Friedrich Christian (1722-63) in 1738-40; see comtedelusace.wordpress.com for transcriptions of his travel diaries and other relevant archival documentation, as well as links to the literature. She was curator of Fragile Diplomacy: Meissen Gifts for European Courts, ca. 1710-63 (BGC 2007) and The Grand Cure (Dresden State Museums 2018).
