Bio
I am an Information and Knowledge Access Professional and Advocate dedicated to advancing equitable and inclusive access to knowledge, proudly affiliated with Hawassa University, Ethiopia. With over two decades of experience in academic librarianship and digital innovation, my work focuses on expanding digital inclusion, promoting open access and Open Educational Resources (OER), and strengthening ethical and sustainable information services.
I actively lead and support initiatives that empower communities by facilitating access to quality print and digital educational resources through strategic partnerships and donation programs. In this work, I collaborate with international library support organizations, including Book Aid International, Books For Africa, and International Law Book Facility. I also engage in regional and global professional networks such as the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, and the American Library Association, contributing to knowledge exchange, collaboration, and collective impact across the global library community.
Guided by the vision “Empowering Knowledge. Inspiring Resilience.”, I am committed to shaping a future where every learner can grow, connect, and thrive—contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 4 in Ethiopia and beyond. Through my platform, INFOLIBNET (Information and Libraries Network), I highlight innovation, pioneering initiatives, and the impactful contributions of researchers and knowledge professionals across local, national, and global communities.
Recognized as a Librarian Spotlight Africa Honoree, I continue to advocate for inclusive, open, and transformative knowledge ecosystems.
