My director says:
Go onstage and sing your song "tonight" and let the music come from you let your characters be true. I am Maria young and in starcrossed love with Tony, we can endure death...together. "Tonight, tonight it all began tonight I saw you and the world went away" I face Tony "Te adoro Anton" I speak tenderly as he descends the fire escape with a tender kiss "goodnight goodnight....dream of me tonight" At twenty-two, my age, I know this is what I was meant to do "when love comes so strong there is no right or wrong your love is your life" (Theatre is life.) Broadway? Don't mind if I do. It makes me feel pretty "see that pretty girl in the mirror there?" Being me and OCD, I know I'll make it to my dreams, but only because you tell me that I rock, that I can sing, dance, act, when I'm up there on that balcony, in love with a boy I barely know..."a boy like that" That's acting. And I can act. When I wake up from my dream, I am not Maria, but Bryana- still a leading lady in MY West Side Story.
