Bio
Natalie Heller: I am a dance artist and educator. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Oxford University in Philosophy and French (language and literature) and a Masters degree from Trinity Laban in Creative Practice and Dance. I have worked with choreographers such as Rosemary Butcher, Karl Frost, Elena Christodoulidou among others. I present my work (which takes the form of dance performances, lecture demonstrations, movement installations, papers, workshops) in festivals, independent art spaces, and international conferences. I currently teach dance and movement practices at Leiden University, The Netherlands. Through my research I seek to explore the dimension of knowing that arises out of the practice of dance. My creative work is centered on giving a first person account of lived experience. My current research question is: Can somatic practices offer insight to our notions of subjectivity?
