Night-time Feed focuses on research on mothers and mothering. It draws heavily on attachment theory developed by the UK psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Dr John Bowlby. Attachment theory explains how and why mothers are so important to their babies. Attachment theory has roots in a number of disciplines including psychoanalysis, cognitive and developmental psychology, evolutionary science, ethology, primatology, neuroscience, infant mental health, trauma research, and developmental psychopathology.
