Bio
I am a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and Co-Founder and Board Member at Nursing and Caregivers Cooperative, a company created by LVNs for LVNs. Four of my colleagues and I who are all LVNs founded the cooperative in 2015 with the support of the Service Employees International Union – United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW).
The purpose of the cooperative is to provide high quality jobs where LVNs can use their full set of skills and training, which is increasingly difficult in a hospital setting.
We are currently working with a Federally Qualified Health Clinic (FQHC) in South Los Angeles, CA to provide Medi-Cal moms educational services during their pregnancy at the convenience of their own homes. We are also in conversation with other potential institutional clients to expand our services to Northern California.
