Bio
Rodney Shipman is a second-generation revivalist. He grew up experiencing moves of God in many places where his family ministered. He learned how to recognize the presence of Holy Spirit anointing as a child, often ministering alongside his parents praying for people in the altars.
Rev. Shipman attended Central Bible College and received his License to Minister from the Assemblies of God in 1988. He has been in full-time ministry for 32 years and has twice been honored and privileged to host a move of God. These experiences happened in 2 different cities in entirely different types of congregations.
One of these lasted 8 full weeks, holding services 6 nights each week. The presence of God was so strong that nobody wanted to miss out. It compelled us to be there. Some were so hungry for more that they requested morning teachings for further discipleship on things of the Spirit. So, for a portion of that 8 weeks, there were morning and evening meetings.
The other was what he calls ‘a sovereign move of God.’ It was a weighty presence that landed and remained for 4 solid years. There was no predicting what was going to happen. Holy Spirit might take over at any point. Once, just 5 minutes into the opening of the meeting and Holy Spirit came in powerfully drawing people into prayer and repentance. People were saved, healed, and delivered in every service during that sovereign move. The motto became, “If you come late you might miss out.”
When the sovereign move came, Pastor Shipman didn't want it to stop so he did everything he could to sustain it. Holy Spirit gave wisdom and understanding in handling the transformations the congregation was undergoing. God gave guidance and creative ideas for problem-solving. And he sent an experienced mentor, Dr. David Franklin Watson, to walk through it with them.
Mentoring revolutionized Pastor Shipman’s ministry. Every place he has served since has seen powerful manifestations of Holy Spirit. Now, as he senses another transformational wave of genuine revival brooding, Rev. Rodney has become a spiritual father and mentor to help ministers navigate revival. He has founded a ministry called Revival Nations Ministries and built a mentoring program designed to prepare ministers to host revival and partner with Holy Spirit.
Rodney married his wife, Sherri, in 1988. They have two married sons and five grandchildren. They enjoy hiking, bicycling, kayaking, flea markets and cooking together. The Shipman’s reside in Northwest Arkansas with their Aussie-Blue Heeler, Jerusha.
