Bio
Having developed and instituted a computerized purchasing system for Virginia hospitals in 1982, which automated all purchases and provided stand alone computer capabilities, I continue to study healthcare problems and evaluate solutions shown in the appropriate data.
With recent healthcare changes, the emphasis in this field will return to making changes to enable savings or avoiding cost increases while minimizing declines in quality and services. This will require a complete change in institutions, providers and consumers.
