Bio
Sean Rodda is a writer, traveller, storyteller, and human swiss army knife. Growing up in Alaska taught him the value of adaptable resourcefulness, and what started as basic necessity eventually became a strong driving force in his life. Rather than pursue a formal post high school education, he has spent the last 15 years earning degrees in tomfoolery and misadventure. When Sean hasn't been on the road, he’s spent time as a commercial fisherman and professional deckhand in the Gulf of Alaska, a caregiver and EMT, a snowboard salesman, a professional bicycle mechanic, an oyster farmer, and a conflict resolution specialist / outdoor retail store manager, among many other things.
As a writer Sean has spent most of his free time since 2013 documenting his wanderlust and spouting off on roddatrials.com. He is also currently compiling a large collection of short stories based on his life of adventure up to this point. He had a brief stint as a freelance gear reviewer and pre-production outdoor gear product tester in the Pacific Northwest, but he burnt most of those bridges by being brutally honest and refusing free gear as payment for fluffy false opinions. He does not regret it.
Sean is now homeless by choice and spending much of his time living astride a 2002 Suzuki DRZ400 dual sport motorcycle. He is currently in the Pacific Northwest preparing to migrate to the Southwest for the winter. He can be followed and contacted through this blog. Sean can also be found on
