Bio
Simon is currently at Macquarie University in Sydney Australia, the University of Queensland in Brisbane Australia and the University of South Australia. Simon has studied in the Philosophy departments of Macquarie, Queensland and Murdoch Universities, in the Religion departments at the University of South Australia and La Trobe University, in the Asian Languages (Hindi) Department at La Trobe University, and in the Asian Studies department at Griffith University. Simon's main areas of interest are the philosophy of religion, ethics and moral philosophy, the philosophy of mind, Asian philosophy (particularly ancient Asian philosophy with a focus on phenomenology and epistemology) and epistemology.
A student of Hindustani classical music, Simon has studied the tabla since 2003 in the Delhi gharana under his guru Pt. Suresh Kumara Prajapati and Suresh's father Pt. Kishan Lal Krodiwal. Simon is currently pursuing further study in medieval Indian music focusing on percussion instruments such as the khol.
Simon is also interested in the philosophy surrounding food, particularly that found in the Vedic literature and the reforms inspired by the Bhakti revolution a little over 500 years ago in India. Having studied both contemporary and 'folk' cooking in various locations in North India, Simon works as a chef in an Indian restaurant where he is able to refine his skills.
It would also appear that Simon enjoys speaking about himself in the third person.
