Welcome to sjgotreal.com! My name is Suzy, and yes, I’m “getting real.” What exactly does that mean?
Well, for me that means first I got real with God. He’s, well, God, and I’m, um, not.
I got real with my heart. It’s really had a rough go for a long time now, sort of like a house left alone to dilapidate and acquire some squatters, namely Bitterness, Resentment, Fear, Pride…yeah. We’ll delve into that more later!
I got real with my finances…or lack thereof. This one has been an uphill battle worth every bruised shin, stubbed toe and the occasional roll halfway down the hill and start the climb again. More to share about what I’ve done, what I wasn’t doing, and where I am today!
I got real with my spouse. “I always love you, dear, but sometimes…I just don’t like you.” I’m honest like that, but the feeling’s mutual I’m sure (…maybe?). After 11 years we’re learning that marriage is about so much more than like and even love. Stay tuned to hear more!
I got real with my body. It’s the one I’ve got for as long as I’ve got so I best start taking GREAT care of it – inside and out. More to come on what’s working for me!
I got real with my kids. “Mommy needs Suzy time, girls, and if I hear “mommy” one more time Mommy might self-destruct.” #momlife #loveit #goditshardsometimes
But then, I got real with…me. What do I want to do with Suzy time? What happened to that spirited chick? Where did her fire go? My fire. My passion! When did my passion turn into lame excuses and “I should…” instead of “YES! I TOTALLY WANT TO!!!”?
The simple answer is…there isn’t one! But I’m on a journey to get real with LIFE. I mean, this is the only one I have this side of Heaven, right? So the big questions became: what am I here for and how can I create my best self and a life that I simply love?
And hey, while we’re at it, how can YOU?
Let’s lock arms and see what works, and what doesn’t. What feels right and what…in the @#$% were we thinking?! I’ll be me, and you be you, and…
