Bio
Hi, I’m Shabana.
I've had the privilege of being a Speech and Language Therapist for over two decades, dedicated to aiding parents of children with speech issues. With 23 years of experience, I have worked in hospitals, clinics, and schools, and I am currently employed at a mainstream inclusive school.
My training includes:
Oral Placement Therapy by Talk Tools
NLA by Marge Blanc's course
AAC AVAZ
In my current role, I am an integral part of the assessment team, where I independently create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with parents. My timetable is filled with individual, paired, and group therapy sessions, ensuring comprehensive support for each child.
I pride myself on being a team player who is organized, passionate, enthusiastic, calm, patient, loving, and responsible. My dedication has been recognized with long service awards twice in my current position, marking ten and fifteen years of commitment.
My responsibilities include:
Providing assessment, diagnosis, and appropriate speech and language therapy interventions for children with speech, language, and communication needs, as well as oral stage eating and drinking difficulties in various educational settings.
Offering advice and support to parents/carers, non-specialists, education staff, and other specialist professionals.
Creating detailed SLT report cards for all children each term and conducting effective parent meetings and trainings.
Beyond my school role, I run a home clinic for Speech Language Therapy, where I continue my passion for helping more parents and children outside of school hours
Parents, children, and colleagues have shaped my work, understanding, empathy, and professional career in the field of Speech Therapy
The overarching work of Speech and Language Therapy is to provide parents with Therapy sessions, Hope, Guidance, and Encouragement in their journey to teach, and advocate for their precious children. Living in New Delhi and working with one of the best schools in India.
I enjoy sharing my work, shopping malls, my home, my workplace.
I love to spend time with my kids, my plants, the sunny weather, and a hot cup of tea on hot and cold days.
My Therapies are a part of my family and a life story which is unique, deeply meaningful, and always an adventure
