Bio
Chris Reed is a filmmaker and the Chair of the Film/Video Department at Stevenson University, near Baltimore. He holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard in Slavic Languages and Literatures (specialization in Russian), a Master's Degree from Yale in Russian and East European Studies (specialization in film), and an MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in Film Production.
Chris is currently at work on a book on film editing, to be published in 2012, as part of a series on filmmaking for high school and college students. His own focus as a filmmaker has been primarily on documentary and promo work, with some narrative mixed in. He is a true one-man film crew, often directing, shooting and editing all by himself, working in sensitive hospital environments, using his own high-definition equipment.
Chris is also an experienced lecturer on film history and aesthetics, and frequently leads presentations for the Donovan Film Series - http://www.fcsmd.org/events/donovan.htm - as well as for Cinema Sundays at the Charles - http://www.cinemasundays.com/
