Bio
I am a happily married, stay-at-home mother of 2 wonderful children. In 2012, my husband and I decided to home educate our kiddos (the best decision that we ever made). Needless to say, we've learned a lot about home education in subsequent years and have thoroughly enjoyed the trials and triumphs along the way. We continue to learn as we go!
In 2013 we decided that we were tired of city life and decided to move into the beautiful mountains of Colorado for some peace and quiet and to learn a little about self sufficiency. Living at an altitude of 8700 feet taught us that self sufficiency is hard work, to say the least. The terrain was treacherous, the winters were long and hard, the plows rarely made it into our small neighborhood and the power went out in the dead of winter numerous times... not to mention the excruciatingly SLOW internet. While there, we got our first experience farming chickens. We enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to take it up a notch.
In July 2015, we moved to northern Idaho to make a go of small-scale farming with dairy goats, rabbits and chickens. This blog is about our adventures (and misadventures... hehe) regarding our efforts in the aforementioned and much, much more! I sincerely hope that you find these adventures as entertaining as we do. Welcome to The Farmsteading Four!
