Bio
A sojourner in every sense of the word, Sojourner travels like she meditates – on both feet, with deliberate steps. Her great travel goal is to visit every country in Africa taking photographs to document her journey.
Hailing from Rochester, New York, her first major trip was a visit to England where she crashed for a few weeks with a friend studying in Westminster. One trip soon led to the next and before she could identify what had hit her, she had visited nearly every continent and included travel among the great loves of her life.
Fascinated by culture, history, and indigenous healing traditions, she has volunteered, lived and journeyed her way around twenty-three countries and counting.
Whether working at an orphanage in Cape Coast, Ghana, painting fishing boats in Kao Lak, Thailand, exploring the Algerian suburbs of Paris in search of white honey, or sampling rum in Barbados, supporting locals and giving back to her host communities is a priority.
Published both in print and online, Sojourner relates stories from her travels with humor and heart. When she is not wearing her travel hat, Sojourner is a yoga instructor and creator of organic handmade lotions, splitting her time between Brandywine, Maryland and Brooklyn, New York, where she lives with her musician husband, curious infant and their conspicuously loquacious cat. Depending upon the occasion, Sojourner can often be found rambling along the streets at twilight or sipping red wine or green tea by the window in her favorite writing chair.
