Bio
Ms. Dr. Joseph L. Simonis is a gender-non-conforming athlete, activist, and scientist. Joe skates for the Windy City Rollers and Chicago Red Hots roller derby leagues and is the founder of the TGI Athlete Network, an organization aimed at building community and promoting an inclusive athletic environment. Joe holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University and is currently employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Population Biology at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
