Bio
I’m a writer, science nerd, and friendly neighborhood histotechnician with an insatiable curiosity about the world and a passion for helping others navigate it.
Over the past few years, I’ve lost more than 130 pounds through a combination of pharmaceutical intervention, discipline, education, and long-term lifestyle change. But weight loss is only part of the story. Behind the physical transformation were years of heavy thoughts — struggles with body image, mental health, self-perception, and the emotional weight that people often carry in silence... the weight I carried in silence for so long.
Through this blog, I want to share my journey openly and honestly so others know they are not alone, that change is possible, and that healing is about more than a number on a scale. It will be the good, the bad, and the ugly — the science, the setbacks, the mental health struggles, the victories, and the lessons learned along the way. My goal is to help people better understand weight loss, health, psychology, and the complicated relationship we have with our bodies — with compassion, evidence, and realism. I'm not an expert. I just think my story might help.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in Mathematics and Chemistry, as well as a Master of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health. And I've been in histology since 2015. I believe knowledge becomes most valuable when it is shared, understood, and used to improve people’s lives.
