WordPress.com offers one free Business plan per student. This plan includes unlimited traffic and professional hosting tools: SFTP and SSH access, database access via PHPMyAdmin, staging sites, and GitHub deployments, among other features. Each site includes an individual WordPress installation and is not compatible with WordPress multisite.
Is a domain included?
Is a domain included?
Sites include a free subdomain (example.wordpress.com). Students can register a domain with a .blog extension free of charge for the duration of the agreement. If you want to use a domain with another extension, you can purchase it separately or register it outside of WordPress.com and connect it to your WordPress.com site.
What support is offered?
What support is offered?
Students have the same access to 24/7 support available to WordPress.com users. Teachers have direct contact within the support team for escalated support.

What happens at the end of the academic term?
Students are given the option to keep their domain and website at a significant discount. If they choose not to renew and allow their Business plan to expire, the website is switched to a free plan. The appearance and functionality may change when switching to the free plan, but the content (publications and multimedia files) remain unchanged.

The service is renewed depending on the educational program. The minimum term is one year and the maximum is three years, and it is renewable for educational programs. It is automatically renewed if all parties agree.
