About .co domain names

This page explains special requirements for domains with the .co extension.

The .co extension is the country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) .co extension that represents Colombia. Anyone can register .co domain names. There are no restrictions or special requirements for registration.

Once the domain name reaches 5 days after expiration, the registry puts the domain name on a hold status for approximately 40 days. During this time, it’s not possible to update the name servers or make any other changes, including deleting or canceling the domain name. At the end of this hold period, the domain enters redemption and an additional fee is required to renew the domain name.
