Ask our Support AssistantTo add a recovery email and SMS number to your account, take the following steps:
- Hover over your name at the top right corner of any screen while logged into WordPress.com.
- Select the “My WordPress.com account” button:

- On the side, select the Security menu option:

- Select the “Account recovery” option:

- In the Recovery Email section, enter an alternate email address and click the “Validate” button.
- You will receive an email with a link to click to verify your access to the email address.
- In the Recovery SMS Number section, select your country code from the drop-down, enter your alternate phone number, and click the “Validate” button.
- You will receive a text message with a code to enter into your WordPress.com account to verify the phone number.
To remove a recovery method later, click “Remove email” or “Remove SMS number” in the corresponding section.
