Blog Stats block

Display a stats counter on your blog with the Blog Stats block. This guide will show you how to add and configure the block.

Add the Blog Stats block

To add the Blog Stats block, click the + Block Inserter icon and search for “search term.” Then, click to add the block to a page, post, or template.

Using your keyboard, you can also type /Blog Stats on a new line and press enter to quickly add a new Blog Stats block.

Add content to the block

When you first add the Blog Stats block to your post or page, it will look like this:

By default, the Blog Stats block displays the number of views on your whole site. However, you can adjust the stats displayed through the block settings sidebar.

When you click on the block, a toolbar of options will appear above or below it:

The Blog Stats block contains the following toolbar options from left to right:

  • Change block type.
  • Drag the block.
  • Move the block up or down.
  • Align (left, center, right).
  • More options.

When you select a block, you will find additional block settings in the right sidebar. If you do not see the sidebar, you may need to click the Settings icon in the top-right corner to bring up the settings. This icon looks like a square with two uneven columns:

Views or visitors

Select whether you want to display the stats for views or visitors.

  • Views: the total number of views to your site.
  • Visitors: the number of unique visitors to your site.

The data used for views or visitors comes from your site’s Jetpack stats. Learn more about Jetpack stats.

Show stats data for

You can choose between showing the stats for the entire site or just the individual post to which you added the Blog Stats block. If you add the block to a template and select the individual post option, it will calculate stats data everywhere the template is used.

Blog Stats block styles

In the block settings sidebar, click on the Styles icon to access the design settings for the block. The Styles icon is in the shape of a circle, with half of the circle filled in:
