Today we launched a redesigned admin bar, the handy toolbar you see at the top of every WordPress.com blog when you’re logged in. We’ve retired the old flat blue look in favor of something that better matches the swanky new WordPress.com dashboard.
The new admin bar is designed to command less attention — the previous blue bar had a tendency to clash with some themes. With the new design, the admin bar should recede into the background — available when you need it, not too noticeable when you don’t.
We’ve also included a few extra touches of style for users of the latest-generation browsers with the best CSS support.

Gray is good, but could we have a link to global dashboard on this panel? Those with multiple blogs must go to “view blog” then select Global dashboard. Previous style had it as one step.

I would like to see more themes with flexible widths! The choice is really disappointing right now, only 10 and not one of them are close to the clean elegance of my favorite fixed-width themes.

Thanks for the new admin bar, it did clash with my browser theme.
I would like under My account the link to my ‘Blog surfer’ page.
And also if possible under ‘Blog info’ the option to include other blogs directly into my blog surfer list.

I found the new design & latest version of the admin bar is really nice, but i have difficulties in posting new posts / pages. The space between paragraphs becomes so distance when I save the new posts/ pages. Why is it ? Also, when I add new sentences at the same posts/ pages, the process is slow and annoying. I prefer the old version, when everuthing ran smoothly. Pls help. at this moment, I have difficulties in editing, that’s why i write this comments.

Honestly, given the nightmare that the 2.5 “upgrade” is in terms of actually authoring a post, this is just par for the course. This actually makes it harder to differentiate from the brushed aluminum of Safari’s interface.
Anyone who had a problem differentiating the blue WP bar from their own site really does have a problem. Now it’s just harder to navigate overall.
Hey, want to make it even “better” make it automatically collapse like the Windows task bar. Make it some really intense Flash that checks for a rollover about 1000 times a second and keeps the processor at 50% when I’m doing nothing, then give it fancy sounds that you guys like and which make it impossible to use in the workplace. Don’t give us the option to turn the sounds off, disable the auto-hide, or to stop you guys from doing any of the work you’r edoing to make the wordpress interface as hard as possible to use.

Wow… it is still sooo…. grey… and so redesigned…. I mean nothings changed but the color and it is sooo impressive. The grey I mean… I ahve been starring at it for about 3 days now and it, it, does not change. It still sits there all grey and stuff. This is truly amazing. I am thrilled to be part of this monumental accomplishment and witness the power of change in action.

p.s. One feature I do miss though (not related to admin bar), is being able to access draft posts directly from the “Write post” screen.
