Today we launched a redesigned admin bar, the handy toolbar you see at the top of every WordPress.com blog when you’re logged in. We’ve retired the old flat blue look in favor of something that better matches the swanky new WordPress.com dashboard.
The new admin bar is designed to command less attention — the previous blue bar had a tendency to clash with some themes. With the new design, the admin bar should recede into the background — available when you need it, not too noticeable when you don’t.
We’ve also included a few extra touches of style for users of the latest-generation browsers with the best CSS support.

I think there should be an option in your settings as to whether or not to have the admin bar in your home dashboard. Just a simple “on” or “off” would be great.. Because not everyone is going to want that thing hanging up there, but for hosted WordPress sites, it would come in handy at keeping in touch with the WordPress community at-large.

not bad but it’s just a colour change. I would like it smaller , have the option not to have it, and options to choose the colour.
I would rather the effort go into fix the messy new admin screen, that first page is so poorly laid out.

I prefer the admin bar now better than before, thanks. Is there any way to make it disappear (retract under search engine tool bars) until the mouse goes to the top of the page? At that point this same bar would be visable? You guys seem to work miracles with WP so I thought I would ask!

A direct link to blog stats would be very good too. Perhaps I am getting old, who knows?

The new admin bar is much nicer than the old heavy blue. I want also to say a huge “Μπραβο” about the fact that now the wordpress is fully functional for the Greek bloggers. Options that didn’t work in the past, now are working and are “smooth as air”.
Keep up the excellent work Guys. With your nice ideas and your continuously apettite for improvements I never reggret about my descision to choose wordpress instead of another host.

For the people that want it to match the browser but dont use safari, there are these things called “themes” for FireFox that can make it look like Safari! 😀 haha I love that so many web apps are designed with Mac OSX and Safari in mind now. All you Windows lovers have had it good in the past, Mac is on the up and up now!

I like the new admin bar. The “possibly related posts” feature, on the other hand, doesn’t look good to me, because it is not clear that the posts have nothing to do with my blog. As long as that ambiguity exists, I won’t be using it.

I love the new changes. I seem to not be able to insert a link into the body of the post using either browser. Please advise as I do use snapshot and it now works, but the link is not on the bar and on firefox it is there but doesn’t work at all…
