Can't connect to wordpress.com during Jetpack installation
-
I use Hostgator and W3 Total Cache plugin. I found this note at http://jetpack.me/support/
“There are known issues with the W3 Total Cache’s plugin, used by HostGator and other hosting providers. We recommend temporarily turning Total Cache’s ‘Object Cache’ off, connecting Jetpack, turning the object cache back on, and then clearing the object cache.”
I followed those instructions and I’m still getting the following error message when I tried to connect to wordpress.com:
Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 500]. If you are hosted with Go Daddy, they are aware of this issue, and we at WordPress.com are working with them to fix it. If your site is hosted elsewhere, please contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.me/support/
The website is publicly accessible to me and everyone I know. Please advise if we should do something else.
Thanks for your help.

Leave W3TC off, but please also deactivate all other plugins while connecting to rule-out any plugin conflicts.
