help me invite people to view who do not yet have wordpress accounts

  I am trying to invite two new users to view my private blog ( private for now, just starting out, not ready to go public!). These friends have no wordpress accounts but I kept getting error message about this – I thought WordPress would email them and help them create an account?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Did you do the Invite by Email thing?

  Thanks so much for responding, no I didn’t see that as option, but sounds like what I need, I’ll check it out & report back to forum, cheers

  I’m still having no luck with this; I actually had used the ‘invite new user by email’ before I came to the forum, ( I thought maybe I’d missed a 2nd option for non-wordpress people) – and I keep re-tryin same option ( ie, inserting my friend’s email address into the box) but all I get is a Red Error Message saying ‘WordPress.com username does not exist or invalid email address.’ – So WordPress does not send that email inviting my friend to set up a WordPress act and accept invitation. I’m stuck because I don’t want to go ‘public’ until those particular people read my blog. Thanks in advance.

  Sorted!! Thank you all for the input – and just after I posted above update, I re-tried, only this time instead of copy and pasting email addresses from my Apple Mail yoke, I just physically typed email address in one by one. Worked a treat, so just for anyone with same issue in future, it’s best to keep it simple and type in email address of invitee. Thanks again.
