HELP! When will my domain name be released?

  my question is this: is it very necessary to input these fields, or can I proceed with the transfer just fine without them?

  Yes, you can proceed with the transfer without changing the DNS here — they can be changed once the domain has been transferred to Bluehost.

  I just got this email re: my transfer request to from WordPress to Bluehost –

  Dear A S,

  The transfer you requested has been declined because you opted-in to a transfer lock for 60 days when you agreed to the WordPress.com Change of Registrant policy.

  For security reasons, when you change the registrant’s first name, last name, or organization name, you consent to a 60 day lock on transferring the domain name. Because you have provided your consent, Section 3(6) of the ICANN Policy on Transfer of Registration between Registrars permits us to decline your transfer request.

  … I have no idea how this happened; I certainly approved no lock to my knowledge nor did I change any account info prior to transfer; in fact, I made sure not to, to avoid this. Any ideas about how to remedy this would be much appreciated!!

  Hi there,

  It looks like our domain registrar has added a transfer lock to the domain — however I can’t see any reason for it to be there so I’ve contacted them today and asked for the lock to be removed.

  I’ll let you know as soon as I have more news.

  Many thanks, gemmacevans – it looks like we are good to go!

  One last question – according to the confirmation email I received, the domain will not be released until the fifth day of the transfer, which is April 15th. Is there any possible way to speed this up, due to the fact that we’ve already lost a number of days with sorting things out? Any final help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks so much!!!

  according to the confirmation email I received, the domain will not be released until the fifth day of the transfer, which is April 15th

  The transfer usually happens within 5 days — however I checked the status of your domain today and it’s showing as transferred. So that’s good news!
