  I am doing this blog for a class assignment, the link I provided is not working, I think it is something I am doing wrong within the blog. I don’t want this to be a public site

  Hi @deble25, the link you provided here is live, but it doesn’t have anything displayed on the front page.

  Did you want to swap out your front page? If so, you can publish the page you’ve been working on, and make it live, then set it as the front page:
  https://wordpress.com/support/pages/front-page/

  I don’t want this to be a public site

  That’s fine. You can set the site privacy here:
  https://wordpress.com/settings

  You’d just need to grant access to whoever else needs to see it. Or, you could make the site public but discourage search engines.
