how do I upload widgets and photos?

  I can not figure out how to import widgets to customize my blog. There is no upload or import function on the dashboard or anywhere else, yet directions on the widgets I’m interested in refer to uploading to my wordpress directory. Also, how do I post linkable images? An image URL does not make sense to me. Again, this seems like the place to upload from a file.

  You can’t upload widgets or plugins here at WordPress.com for security and performance reasons.

  As for your second question, you can insert an image and specify a Link URL:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/

  Otherwise, you could always click on the image once it’s been inserted into the post editor, and click on the Link icon in the visual editor.
