Infinite Scrolling does not activate

I have enabled infinite scrolling in the writing settings, have no footer widgets, and have tried many themes but I still see the ‘load more posts’ button instead of 7 more posts automatically loading. Any insights? Thanks

Ah, I see what’s going on here.
Infinite Scroll will only work on the posts page, and you have a static front page with the Blog Posts Block, but no posts page: https://wordpress.com/support/pages/front-page/#step-3-create-a-blog-page-optional
At this time, the Blog Posts Block does not support infinite scroll.

Thanks, I did that and there is infinite scrolling but the posts are not excerpts but complete posts although I have selected excerpts in the reading settings.

I am not sure what happened but now there are no posts. I have the new posts page set as the homepage.

ok, the posts are back but they are not excerpts. the home page is still set as the posts page.

I set the home page back to the original blog page and put the posts page on the menu as “all posts”. there is infinite scrolling but no excerpts. sorry for all of the changes. I will keep it as is until the excerpt issue is fixed.

It seems the theme did not allow excerpts. I changed the theme and all is well. Thank you
