Jetpack won't connect to WordPress.com
-
Sorry I’m bothering you again. My hosting provider says that they are not blocking the access to any file. So, I think it must be something else… Is there any other file that Jetpack uses to connect?
Thank you again!
-
Hm, that’s odd. Didn’t they say they need an IP address so they could open communication with the file, thus implying a block?
Since it’s apparently not blocked now, have you tried connecting again?
Make sure that you try with all other plugins temporarily disabled and the Twenty Eleven theme temporarily activated, just for good measure.

Yep, they said that at first. But now, I talked to another person and he told me that the access to the file was ok.
I’ve tried with all other plugins disabled and the Twenty Eleven theme activated, and nothing.
Like I said before, I had some problems with encoding. Should I check any files to see if everything is correct?
Thanks.

Ok, now I’m getting a not found error for xmlrpc.php again.
Please make sure that the file exists. If it does, your hosting provider must still be blocking it.

Sorry, I put 777 at the file permissions by FTP. Which are the permissions it has to have?
I think you can access the file again, sorry for the inconvenience.
-
Definitely not 777. It should be either 644 or 755, whichever of the two works, though preferably 644.
-
Also, make sure that all of your WordPress files are either 644 or 755.
The same as before, whichever works is fine, though 644 is better overall.

I’ve checked all files and nothing… Any other possible solution?
I’ll be out for the weekend so I won’t be able to write in the forums. But I will check whatever you say and tell you next monday.
Thanks!
