Major difficulties linking domain to GoHighLevel
-
I am trying to link my domain to GoHighLevel and apparently the DNS records namesake is WordPress, however I have no idea how to change the DNS records with WordPress so that this works. I am not sure why no matter how many times I change DNS records they are not verified. I need urgent assistance and do not know how to get it without anyone to contact.

Hi @widemanjosephinea9c5b8057c
Thanks for your post. I checked your setup, and the issue here is that your site is not hosted on WordPress.com.
Your site okd.loz.mybluehost.me is a self-hosted WordPress site on Bluehost, and your domain is using Bluehost nameservers (ns1/ns2.mybluehost.me). This means that WordPress.com does not control your DNS.
What this means:
Any DNS changes you make on WordPress.com won’t apply, which is why GoHighLevel is unable to verify your records.
What you need to do:
You’ll need to update your DNS records directly in your Bluehost account (or wherever your domain’s DNS is managed).
Once the records are added there, the verification should work as expected.
If you’re unsure where exactly to edit DNS in Bluehost, I recommend reaching out to their support. They can guide you more quickly and accurately.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I have checked with Bluehost and they reiterate the same as Squarespace that my DNS records are with WordPress and need to be altered from WordPress side. I really am blocked by this.
I have been given evidence that the DNS records are with WordPress. The fact that I cannot reach any customer service is very difficult!! -

Thanks for sharing those details and the DNS check results — that helps clarify the situation. Since your domain’s nameservers are pointed to WordPress.com, you can manage your DNS records directly in your WordPress.com dashboard under Domains > DNS. You can add or edit records there to match the requirements provided by GoHighLevel. For detailed steps, please see our guides on custom DNS and changing name servers.
If you’d like, I’m here to help you through the exact records you need to add or modify for GoHighLevel so your funnel gets up and running smoothly. What kind of funnel are you building? I’d love to learn more about your goals and how we might support your online presence!

Hi there,
Thanks again.
I am in my domain section but there is no domains listed. I can’t send a screenshot, but I am unable to see anything other than Plans and Purchases under the Upgrade button. There should be Domain, but there is not. -
Hi there,
I hope you’re doing well!
I checked the thewritetutor.org domain, and I noticed that it was previously connected/mapped to a WordPress.com hosted site.
While looking into it, I also found that the site linked to that domain is associated with a different WordPress.com account than the one you’re currently using to contact us. This could be why the domain isn’t showing up in your account.
Additionally, I did some further checking using WHOIS and the whatsmydns.net tool. I found that the domain is hosted with Squarespace and is no longer using WordPress.com name servers or A records. Instead, it’s using Google Domains name servers, for example:
ns-cloud-c1.googledomains.com
ns-cloud-c2.googledomains.comYou can also check the details here:
– https://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/thewritetutor.org
– https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/thewritetutor.orgCould you please take another look at this domain on your end?
If you’re still experiencing any issues with your domain, I’d recommend reaching out to Squarespace directly since they are your domain provider/registrar. They should be able to help you resolve any domain setup questions or issues. You can contact them here: https://www.squarespace.com/contact
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any further guidance from us. We’re always happy to help!
