Moving a widget from a footer to a header and changing a widget to a page.

My site is very content rich with several short posts that need to be categorixed. Right now I am using a category and search widget which will only appear on the bottom of the page using the Chunk Theme (Which I love BTW). To make my blog easier to search it would be best if these widgets actually showed up in the menu bar. This is far beyond my ability to do. Can you guys make the search widget show up in the header and make the catergory widget a page with lots of drop down options or sub-categories? I would then have three pages plus home.

  • Unfortunately, the Search can’t be moved since you don’t have a widget area in the header.

The categories can’t be moved either, but you could create them instead as a menu or menu item via Appearance -> Menus in your blog’s Dashboard.

See this for more info and a video tutorial: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
