MY WEBSTE IS GONE – HELP!

  HELLO, MY ENTIRE WEBSITE – SIDELINESTYLES.COM – ALL MY ENTRIES AND PAGES ARE GONE (ASIDE FROM THE TITLE PAGE AT THE TOP). WHERE IS ALL MY STUFF? I’M FREAKING OUT, I THINK I’VE LOST 2+ YEARS OF POSTS AND WORK. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, REALLY WANT TO GET THIS STUFF BACK.

  Hi there,

  sidelinestyles.com is a custom domain that has nameservers pointed to Go Daddy. I take it that is where your site is located? The reason you cannot view your site is because the domain is not set as the primary domain, but rather is being forwarded to sidelinestyles.wordpress.com. You’ll need to set sidelinestyles.com as the primary domain in order to see it.

  However, sidelinestyles.com is not under the account that you are contacting us from. You’ll need to log into the account associated with the domain in order to make that update.

  And how do I set it as a primary domain? Through wordpress or through Go Daddy?

  You set the primary domain through WordPress.com, although I do not see the domain under any WordPress.com account. Oddly, it is currently not mapped to sidelinestyles.wordpress.com . Do you happen to remember what you were using the domain for initially? Were you ever using it for a WordPress.com site?

  Darnell I think it was wordpress.org. This is what i’m so bummed about. How do I find it?

  The good news is that I highly doubt your content is gone – it is just being masked by sidelinestyles.wordpress.com. What we need to find out is how to unmask the domain for you. Is it okay if you disconnect JetPack for sidelinestyles.com? I want to check something…

  I disabled JetPack on my end, but it was related to the problem. So, feel free to reconnect if you would like.

  Can you contact Go Daddy and see if there is a redirect from sidelinestyles.com to WordPress.com on their end? I do not see a mapping upgrade for sidelinestyles.com on our end and that is what I am thinking is another way for the domain to be forwarding to the WordPress.com address.

  BTW, I don’t think they’ll need a IP address/A Record from us since you do not want to direct the domain to a WordPress.com domain. If anything, they’ll need to remove the redirect from the account if there is one on there so you can see your site hosted with them when you visit sidelinestyles.com.

  Let me know if they insist on us providing them with an address, however.

  Hey! Officially found the issue.

  Yes, it is officially confirmed by a fellow staff member. As I thought, there is a 301 redirect on Go Daddy’s end. That is why you currently can not see your site. Ask them to have that removed and you should be good to go.

  Hey so they removed the 301 but there is NOTHING there because I host my site on WordPress. Please help again! I want to get to the root of this! I don’t know what to do.

  My website is under wordpress, the domain is under Go Daddy.
