Unwanted notifications again
-
I wrote recently about receiving unwanted notifications about site achievements, streaks of how many days I’ve posted in a row, etc. (https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/unwanted-notifications-3/). I was told to click on my profile icon and select “Notifications” from the side menu, and then Site Achievements to uncheck whatever I didn’t want. I did that, and it seemed to work. But the next day, site achievement notifications turned up again. I tried to go through the same steps, but now there is no Notifications Settings in the menu to click on.
To be clear, I am not receiving unwanted email notifications. But the little bell at the top of my site will show I have new notifications. I’ll think I have a new comment on my site only to discover instead notifications like “Achievement unlocked” and “You’re on a 19 day activity streak.” That’s what I want to turn off.
Thanks for your help.

Try this.
Go to the Reader and in the left sidebar choose your Reader Profile at the bottom of the column.
Then on the page that opens, click on the Achievements tab. At the top right next to Achievements, you’ll see something that looks like a switch for Settings. Click it to adjust your settings. You can turn off Achievement notifications from there as well as make them Private.

Let us know if you need more help.

Thank you! I was able to change that setting, so hopefully that will take care of the notifications.

Hey @barbarah
Today I logged in to WPcom and received a new notification in the Admin Bar “On this day” Thankfully the notification itself has a link to show you how to turn it off in your Notification settings.
