Why is this domain name parked?

If your domain name shows a parked page or an error instead of your site, the most likely reason is that it has expired. Less commonly, the domain name may have been purposely deleted.

What you see when you visit an expired or deleted domain name depends on how it’s set up:

• A WordPress.com page letting you know the domain name is parked, with an option to renew it.
• A page with ads for other websites, with a banner near the top letting you renew the domain name from WordPress.com.
• A browser error like “This site can’t be reached” or DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.

Either way, the fix is the same: check the domain’s status below to see how to restore it.

Depending on when the domain name expired, you may be able to restore your domain.

1. Log into your WordPress.com account.
2. Visit the Active Upgrades section of your dashboard.
3. Locate the domain name and look at the domain status to identify if the domain can be restored.
