The Easy Site Editor is an AI-powered way to edit your WordPress.com site. Describe changes in a chat panel on the left, and see them applied to a live preview of your site on the right.
⚠️
The Easy Site Editor is in beta and rolling out gradually to WordPress.com paid plans.
The Easy Site Editor gives you two panels side by side: a chat panel on the left and a live preview of your site on the right. You describe the changes you want to make in plain language, and the editor applies them to your site.
The preview shows your actual site as your visitors see it. You can click between pages in the preview just as a regular visitor would, so you always know how your site looks.

The Easy Site Editor is available on any WordPress.com paid plan with AI tools enabled. While in beta, it is not currently available on sites with plugins installed or hosting features activated.
To enable the Easy Site Editor:
- Visit your site’s dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings → Writing.
- Next to the AI features, check the box for “Enable AI-powered site building experience,” then click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the screen.

When you select AI Editor in your dashboard, as shown below, the Easy Site Editor opens.

The Easy Site Editor gives you two ways to make changes.
Using natural language, you can type what you want to change in the chat panel on the left. For example: “Change my homepage headline to Welcome to my site.“
Review the change in the live preview of your site on the right. If the AI asks you to confirm the change, you can tell it to apply the change to your site in the conversation.
To update text or images without using chat:
- In the top left corner of the editor, switch from Preview to Edit mode:

- Click the text you want to change and type the new text.
- Click the image you want to change and choose the Replace option that appears.
- Click “Save draft” to save your changes.
The full Site Editor gives you advanced control over your site’s blocks, templates, and theme settings. You can open it at any time from within the Easy Site Editor.
To switch to the full Site Editor, select “Switch to the full Site Editor instead” in the announcement bar at the top of the Easy Site Editor.
