There is a saying among writers: to write more, write more. The hardest part of blogging isn’t the tools – it’s what goes on between your ears. Many people start blogs with excitement, but lose courage when facing the blank post page, or chicken out before hitting publish. Here at WordPress.com, we know. And we’re here to help.
Announcing DailyPost.WordPress.com
Starting today, you can go to dailypost.wordpress.com for inspiration, encouragement and advice about blogging. We’ll be posting every day so you can get regular boosts of motivation to blog more often.
The Post Every Day challenge
Daily habits are the best way to make change happen. If you can remember to do something every day, by the end of the year, you’ll have done that thing over 300 times! Simple and amazing.
As part of the DailyPost, we’re launching two campaigns:
- Post a Day 2011: Post something to your blog every single day through 2011
- Post a Week 2011: Post to your blog at least once a week through 2011
If you’re thinking big, sign up for PostADay. If you’re haven’t posted in ages, or have never posted at all, PostAWeek might be your speed. Still noble and bold, but perhaps more your style.
And of course, feel free to set your own goal – sign up as if you were doing PostAWeek, just so we can keep tabs on what you’re up to.
How to Join:
You can sign up any time – it’s okay if you are reading this on January 15th, or May 5th, or whenever. Join up – it will help you post more, which makes us happy.
Signing up is simple – do the following:
- Post on your blog, right now, that you’re participating

That’s all for now.
simple..rules.
Es un reto, y como todo reto se permanece, nos rindimos, o lo superamos. Con los apoyos que nos ofrecen tratemos de sobre-ponernos a estos desafíos. Está interesante.
I posted every single day in 2010 @ SearchMarketingCommunications.com
Interesting. Once a week in no problem, but once a day? I’ll definitely give that more thought. I’m not sure if quality would suffer or improve with daily posts.
nice idea, train us to think big as yours 🙂
Thanks for giving us a tribe to connect with!
Blogging regularly on my blogs is one of my New Year’s Resolutions. I have lots to write about–it’s just using my time productively so I get to it!
On my blog http://thewritealley.com, my goal is to post M-F; I post writing tips and ideas for business and pleasure.
On my Art Predator blog, my “fun” blog, I try to post daily. For Wine Predator and Bikergo Gal, my goal is at least once a week.
Aww… I so ❤ this! But I blog in non-english language, can I participate anyway??
I’ve been thinking about posting every day even without seeing this challenge… I just felt like blogging more in the new year.
My only concern is that my blog may get diluted with postings that have little to no meaning. Blogging just for the heck of it doesn’t seem too appealing.
But then again maybe like with the “Picture a day” thing we can try to find something interesting to say every day. To change the way we perceive and communicate things.
We’ll see. I’m not signing up (yet at least) but I’ll try it.
You can go for the post once a week challenge. Might be more your speed.
I’m going to give it a try 🙂
The announcement came a little late for us as http://www.mailart365.com already started in December
Sounds amazing this looks soooooooooooo fun !!! 😀 ❤
I have been posting 6-8 times a week. Great challenge!
For a newbie like me, this one is really a challenge. But it interests me!
Blogging everyday isn’t really that hard. Set aside 10-15 minutes a day and blog. If you ask me a big stress reliever and some people think of it as a hobby. But it’s an awesome idea to blog at least once a day!
great idea..

Thanks! I’ve started posting one post a day. I’ve posted 5 posts in prev.48hours. Hope, I’ll post 350+ in 2011. 🙂 @ http://wpgaurav.wordpress.com
I was planning on doing this anyway! One of my New Years Resolutions was to create something – anything, no matter how big or small, polished or sketchy. I post them daily on my blog to keep me motivated. If I get a little bored with a post or image I make, I might use the suggestions. Or I’ll even incorporate the suggestions into the creations? Oooh…
Grean things.. Gotta write new idea…
Great things.. Gotta write new idea…
i Think it’s a nice idea,,hehe,,more often ofcourse much idea will written,,hehe
Posting every day is not an easy task. >. < I'm doing it right now, and I find it quite challenging. At least half an hour per day needed to be spent on it.
I post twice a day, everyday, at http://www.bridesupnorth.co.uk, which is a self hosted wordpress site. It hard work, but its worth it, as I make a bit of extra cash from selling ads – my hits are going up and up and up due to repeat readers who know they can find quality content updated twice a day, everyday.
I love this idea, well, the post a week idea. Writing is a huge passion of mine but struggle with publishing my work online, for the public to see and critique it. However, now that I’m in the process of researching and writing the first draft of my novel, developing the habit of writing every day- or something close to that- will benefit me in the novel writing process as well as give me a place to send those I am querying so they can see the kind of work I put out. Thank you so much for making this challenge, and I look forward to receiving the Daily Post’s daily words of motivation and inspiration in my mailbox!
I said yes to the challenge! Tough but enriching!
That’s quite a challenge, even for a zealous writer like myself!

yesss, thank you WP for providing us the spirit!!
Hi, all friends …good luck for your’s all…ok so sorry and thanks 😀
Why?
Sounds cool, but when you go to you computer, open wordpress(or any other blog) and think:” There might be million of People online too in this very moment, posting their live into the Web… and probably thousands not talking face to face with other people about it, like social behavior of humanity used to…
Did the Internet already got THAT far with tangling our social lives in it´s webs?
I´m not just talking about the Blogs, but also about all these Social Networks, “Partner finding”-things, Chats, ICQ, MSN, Skype and all this other stuff…
And to tell the truth, I´m only 18, and i´m with internet since i was in elementary school, and TODAY, this Frightens me to death 😦
Not that I want/could stop…since thereare alot of good online and far away real friends, to wich i would loose contact..(see what i mean?)
I´m scared to loose my sense for reality one day 😦
but i´ll go with the “Once a Week” forgot to say that xD
wordpress это похоже на wordpad или нет это похоже на MicrosoftWord — звучит очень величественно и возвышенно!!!
I just signed up today and I’m gonna try to post once a week. Here it goes!!
I like this idea. I don’t blog very often, but I always want to make the effort to try! I will definitely try the Post a Week the trial run…
As a busy grad student and teaching assistant, I already know it is unrealistic for me to post daily; however, posting at least once a week is very do-able. It’s simple, effective and, best of all, community based!
I’ll definitely be checking what others are tagging “PostAWeek” – as one of my 2011 goals is to connect with more bloggers!
(Oh, I’ll probably end up writing more than once a week, but I’ll only use the tag on my best post in each 7-day period.)
Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
🙂
Post a day? Totally possible. Keep it short and since I have more than one blog topics are never a problem.
